Overview
Cenchrus purpureus, named for its voracious diet, is a large perennial herbaceous plant of the Gramineae family, native to Asia. Elephant grass is widely cultivated in the tropics and subtropics all over the world because of its large biomass, fast growth and strong adaptability.
